A group of elementary and middle schoolers in the Beaches area recently threw a very colorful party to celebrate neurodiversity.
DePaul School, a local academy for students with dyslexia, hosted the Color Outside the Lines Fun Run (a 5K) on April 26 to celebrate the one in five kids with the learning difference.
Eighty runners started out wearing pristine, white shirts for the 5K, and as they ran, were treated to music and splashes of colorful powder to celebrate diverse minds in the Jacksonville community.
DePaul is a nonprofit, grassroots school launched in 1980 that supports students with dyslexia in Duval, Clay and St. Johns Counties and beyond.
