Fall Fiesta fundraiser to benefit arts education

In an effort to raise community awareness, the Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation for the Arts is set to kick off the foundation’s inaugural fundraising event, Fall Fiesta for the Arts, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

After decades of generous contributions in the form of grants, artwork, art shows and theater exposure, the foundation has decided to take advantage of new fundraising opportunities so that it may expand its efforts in supplementing funding for arts enrichment in Ponte Vedra public schools. According to the foundation, funding for the arts has been on a steep decline over the last several years and community support is needed now more than ever.

During the event, guests will be entertained by Jazz bands from Alice B. Landrum and Palm Valley Academy Middle Schools and Allen D. Nease HIgh School. In addition, art teachers from each of the seven Ponte Vedra public schools have donated their own works of art to be auctioned off at the event. The evening will also offer a silent auction. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on items that have been generously donated by the many businesses that support the organization. All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction will be used to promote and teach the arts to public school students in Ponte Vedra.

The ticket price of $75 includes a drink ticket and dinner catered by Taco Lu. There will also be a cash bar throughout the evening.

The Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing and enriching the educational experience of public school students in greater Ponte Vedra, Florida. In addition to providing public school teachers with grants to enhance classroom instruction, PVPEF raises funds to enrich student learning through the arts, and support school beautification efforts through artwork, landscaping, sculpture and more.
