Florida Chamber Music Project (FCMP) will open its 12th season on Sept. 8 performing Joseph Haydn and Bela Bartok at the Beaches Museum Chapel at the Beaches Museum at 505 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. The concert is sponsored by Danny and Robin Berenberg and Ken and Joan Hecht.

“String Quartet Op. 76, No. 2 ‘Quinten’ by Joseph Haydn and String Quartet No. 1 by Bela Bartok are considered to be the building blocks of string quartet literature,” said Susan Pardue, artistic director of FCMP. “Haydn is known as the father of string quartets and Bartok’s quartets are the crowning achievement of 20th century string quartet literature.”

Tickets are available for this concert as well as the whole season. Season tickets for the six concert series cost $162 and are on sale now. There is also a three-concert flex ticket purchase for $81. Single tickets are $30 at the door or through 904TIX. Student tickets are $10 and available only at the door.

Beaches Museum Chapel is wheelchair-accessible and has free parking along Pablo Avenue near 4th Street North of Beach Boulevard. All concerts begin at 3 p.m. Attendees are invited to join the musicians after the concert for refreshments.

The Florida Chamber Music Project was founded 12 years ago by violist Pardue. Joining her are violinists Patrice Evans and Ann Hertler and cellist Laurie Casseday. All are members of the Jacksonville Symphony.
