Fostering Connections has been selected as a finalist for the CareSource Foundation Grant Challenge. Fostering Connections and other finalists now move on to a public voting stage. Supporters can vote now for the organization they believe is making the biggest impact. The public can vote once a day for the voting period, which ends on April 12.

“It is an honor to be a finalist for this prestigious grant;” Aubrie Simpson-Gotham, said Fostering Connections founder and CEO. “Being selected for this grant will provide the funding we need to build a digital learning platform that will allow our organization to bring our career skills, college readiness and life skills classes to youth impacted by foster care or trauma throughout the state of Florida, to help them have the skills they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency and thrive in life.”

Fostering Connections is a nonprofit organization that provides educational programs and scholarships to youth impacted by foster care or trauma. Established in 2019, Fostering Connections provides services for students in pre-K through grade 12 in Duval, St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler and Volusia counties. In 2022, Fostering Connections served more than 300 youth across Northeast Florida.

The CareSource Foundation Grant Challenge was established to recognize organizations and programs that are making significant impacts on communities’ toughest health issues. Through the new initiative, the CareSource Foundation aims to inspire innovation on reducing health disparities and moving the needle on health equity.
