‘Great American romantic’ Edwin McCain to return to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

Edwin McCain, who was called the “great American romantic” by the New York Times, will return to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on March 13. He last performed there in April 2019.

McCain has built an enviable career over the past 20 years by balancing his pop success with year-round touring.

His hit songs, spirit and affable sense of humor keep fans coming back for nights that some say feel more like parties with old friends than rock concerts.

After recording two of the biggest love songs in the history of pop music and experiencing the success that comes with a television show on Animal Planet (“Flipping Ships”), McCain now performs upwards of 100 shows annually throughout the United States as a solo artist, with his full band or with his acoustic trio.

Those enduring love songs, “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More,” aren’t just for the romantic at heart; “American Idol” and “The Voice” contestants turn to McCain’s ballads every year to help them win over judges and fans alike.

2018 marked the 20th year since “I’ll Be” topped the Billboard charts. The song has proven to be a timeless classic over the past two decades.

Recently, McCain has added orchestras to his repertoire, performing with symphonies in select markets.

“The 15-year-old me would have crawled through a river of fire to be the 48-year-old singer/songwriter that I am today, and I remember that,” he said. “I am incredibly grateful to be able to do this.”

Tickets are available for purchase at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office on Thursdays or Fridays, or on Ticketmaster. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box office is closed at this time.
