JAGA, Northern Chapter of North Florida PGA postpone banquet

JAGA and the Northern Chapter of the North Florida PGA recently announced that circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 health crisis have forced the co-hosting organizations to postpone the 2021 Celebration of Golf banquet that was scheduled to be held in February.

JAGA and the PGA are planning for the banquet to return to the area golf calendar in early 2022.

Many of the award winners and people who would have been honored by their sponsoring organization will be recognized either in 2021 and/or at the 2022 dinner.

“With the coronavirus still very active and its future uncertain, it was pretty clear to those on the Celebration of Golf committee that it would be unwise to announce and attempt to host such a large gathering,” said JAGA president Randy Nader and Northern PGA Chapter president Matt Borocz. “We know it is the right decision based on the current environment and the well-being of those who support the event. We can all look forward to celebrating North Florida golf together again in February 2022.”

The Celebration of Golf is co-sponsored by the Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA) and the Northern Chapter of the North Florida PGA, and supported by the Jacksonville Women’s Golf Association, The First Tee of North Florida and the North Florida Golf Course Superintendents Association.
