The University of North Florida Singing Ospreys will present “Joy to the World: Messiah Favorites & Holiday Carols” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. The performance will be under the baton of Dr. Cara Tasher, UNF director of choral studies, with stage direction by Patrick Chiu and Maureen McClusky.

To open the concert, UNF Chamber Singers will perform staged selections from the Christmas portion of Handel's “Messiah,” then celebrate the season with timeless holiday carols sung by the Osprey Treble Chorus, Holly Hammond, conductor and UNF Chorale with various conductors.

Thirty voices strong, the UNF Chamber Singers will perform 40 minutes of Messiah selections accompanied by Sachiko Frampton on piano and Nick Curry on cello. After a 10-minute intermission, the 35 singers in the Osprey Treble Chorus will perform three selections followed by the 50 voices of the UNF Chorale. Audience participation singing favorite carols at the finale of the concert will be welcomed and encouraged.

In its sixth year, ticket sales from the event will benefit the UNF Music Department and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to advance and promote cultural arts through the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Ticket purchases may be tax deductible.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the box office at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach. General admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door; student, senior or military tickets are $10.
