Kids to run their own farmers market

Posted

The first ever STA Children's Entrepreneur Market, kicks off from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Eddie Vickers Park, 399 Riberia St. in St. Augustine. If you know kids who create arts, crafts or treats, there is still time to reserve a booth.

According to market managers Kimberly McLemore and Kendra Turley, the idea is for kids ages 5 through 16 to sell what they have made or have helped make. Adults are encouraged to bring the kids, help them set up and then hang out in the back of the booth or browse the market while the kids do the selling.

St. Johns parent Megan Russo will help three of her children, Grey, Violet and Tanner, set up a booth to sell sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls. She logs baking as home economics in the kids’ homeschool curriculum.
