Last call for Rotary Rubber Duck Race sponsors

Posted

The Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra is looking for any businesses or community members that would like to be sponsors for the 2023 Rubber Duck Race.

The annual fundraiser is scheduled for May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Palm Valley Outdoors Bar & Grill and will benefit several charities, including Bit of Faith Ranch, Learn to Read of St. Johns County, Port in a Storm, and the Ponte Vedra Rotary Foundation.

Club members were responsible for helping select the three specific charities chosen to help from the local area.

There are various levels of sponsorship opportunities available from $5,000 to be a platinum sponsor to being a patron sponsor with a donation of $500.

Sponsorships can be held by both business or individual residents and can be paid by going to pnotevedrarotaryduckrace.com or by writing a check payable to the Ponte Vedra Rotary Foundation and giving it to club treasurer Sean Smith.

Social media promotion will be included for any sponsors, so businesses are asked to email an image of their logo to duck race chair Gary Smith at garysmith317@gmail.com.

However, anybody can get involved with the annual Rotary community tradition by buying rubber ducks to run in the race or by volunteering.

The club asks that residents consider purchasing at least 10 rubber ducks for the race, which also serves as a building block of the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra’s foundation endowment.

The foundation grants money to local charities, so more rubber ducks sold means more money available to in turn make an impact for those in need in the community.

Thousands of rubber ducks will be poured from the Palm Valley Nocatee Bridge before splashing and floating down the intracoastal waterway to decide the winner.
