Vicar’s Landing CEO Bruce Jones was recently named the board chair of LeadingAge Florida during the association’s convention in Orlando Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.

LeadingAge Florida has been the state’s leading advocate for high-quality senior living, aging services and care for more than 58 years.

Jones has a deep history with the organization, having served in multiple leadership roles over the years.

He is also on the St. Johns County Council on Aging board of directors and is chair-elect of the Brooks College of Health Dean’s Council at the University of North Florida.

Jones is a fellow with the American College of Health Care Administrators and the LeadingAge National Leadership Academy.

“Bruce’s influence and leadership in serving older adults extend across Florida and nationwide,” LeadingAge Florida President and CEO Steve Bahmer said in a press release. “He has been an engaged, committed leader in our association, and LeadingAge Florida is fortunate to benefit from his vision for aging services for the next two years.”

The organization’s board of trustees was also elected during the convention.

The duties of the board are to make sure the LeadingAge Florida mission and objectives are being achieved by the premier senior living organizations across the state.

According to a press release, those organizations have combined to serve more than 80,000 older adults that call Florida home.

The elected board of trustees include:

  • Terry Rogers, CEO of Westminster Communities of Florida in Orlando
  • Andrew Dujon, president and CEO of Waterman Village in Mount Dora
  • Alex Maliwacki, health center administrator at Sunnyside Village in Sarasota
  • Angela Rohr, executive director at Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center
  • Jennifer Stevens, executive director of Abbey Delray South in Delray Beach

“LeadingAge Florida’s position as a highly respected and effective association is in excellent hands due to the hard work and dedication of our board members,” Bahmer said.
