The Limelight Theatre will present “Crimes of the Heart” from Jan. 17 through Feb. 2.

Directed by David Buchman, this intense dramedy by Beth Henley won the1981 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

The three Magrath sisters are back together in their hometown of Hazelhurst for the first time in a decade. Under the scorching heat of the Mississippi sun, past resentments bubble to the surface and each sister must come to terms with the consequences of her own “crimes of the heart.”

Limelight is kicking off the new year with a bang. Henley’s edgy plot follows the immediate aftermath of Babe Botrelle who has just been arrested for shooting her wealthy husband. Estranged middle sister Meg returns home to help lonely Lenny (the oldest) deal with their little sister’s dilemma.

Limelight is in Season 33, and it presents at least three straight plays each year. Its audiences love thrillers and fast-paced comedies.
