Jessica Melquist, franchise partner of Burn Boot Camp Nocatee Town Center, won Single Unit Franchise Partner of the Year at the company’s annual summit July 16-18 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“This win represents the incredible community and team built over one of the most challenging times in all of our lives,” she said. “With 10 weeks under our belt before the pandemic hit, we strengthened our bond and never lost focus on what is most important in life: our health. Even when we could not be together in person we pivoted, persevered and stayed true to our mission of, ‘inspiring, empowering and transforming countless lives in our community.’ It is a great honor and privilege to be in this community.”

Melquist was awarded this honor over 300 other Burn Boot Camp franchise partners located throughout the United States. Her commitment to her members and the community over the past year and half is one of the many reasons she was recognized.

Melquist opened Burn Boot Camp Nocatee Town Center on Dec. 29, 2019. During the grand opening period, she welcomed more than 600 members and trial guests. Even during a global pandemic, Melquist and her team have become a bright spot in the community, helping men and women achieve their health and wellness goals. Melquist is currently in the process of opening her second location in Jacksonville Beach.

Since opening, Burn Boot Camp Nocatee Town Center has also made a point to give back to its community, schools and local fundraisers. During Christmas 2020, the gym collected gifts for Fostering Connections to benefit the many children in foster care in St. Johns County and beyond.

In February 2021, Burn Boot Camp Nocatee Town Center raised more than $400 for the First Coast American Heart Association. Members bought $5 burpee tickets and gifted those burpees to Melquist and her trainers to complete at the end of the month.

In May 2021, gym members raised more than $6,600 for Once Upon A Room—Jacksonville, a local nonprofit organization that transforms the rooms of hospitalized infants, children and teens who are fighting serious illnesses or long-term acute trauma at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Burn Boot Camp features flexible membership options and is camp-based, scheduling members for 45-minute sessions that target different muscle groups each day of the week. Memberships include access to its childwatch program, helping busy parents to prioritize their wellness. Memberships also include access to focus meetings, which pairs members with a trainer to share nutrition guidance and more. No two workouts are the same and each workout promises to challenge each and every member, regardless of fitness level.
