Dr. Saman Soleymani, CEO/president of Avecina Medical, is rewarding three incoming ninth-grade students with a new iPad and a ride to or from school in an exotic car on the first day of the 2019-2020 school year. One student from each county, Clay, Duval and St. Johns, will be selected based on merit, final 2018-2019 grades, and school and community involvement.
Jalen Ramsey, star cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, is partnering with Dr. Soleymani. As part of the contest, Ramsey is providing a pair of pre-season tickets as well as a personal meet-and-greet with him (and possibly other Jaguars athletes) to each of the three winners.
“I am a huge proponent of rewarding kids that focus on education and help their communities in some way,” Dr. Soleymani said.
Soleymani said he knows how difficult transitioning from middle school to high school can be, so he wants to make it a little easier by giving these students a memorable experience to start high school with success and confidence.
