Local nonprofit to host third annual fall gala

It may not feel like it in Florida, but the autumn season has officially arrived. As leaves prepare to turn, local nonprofit, Chemo Noir founder, Katrin Casey, prepares for the third annual Chemo Noir Fall Gala to be hosted from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 Palms Grille.

“I want it to be an experience,” Casey said, “The 3 Palms venue has just been incredible.”

Casey hopes to make the night memorable with interactive activities like a cork-pull raffle for elevated wine packages, live music from Barrett Thomas and a VIP cocktail hour for founders and sponsors before the gala begins.

“We’re also leveling up this year with really amazing auction items,” she said. “Anything from Jaguars, Icemen, Jumbo Shrimp to high-end vacation packages, a few wine tastings and a night at One Ocean.”

All prizes and pizazz aside, Casey just looks forward to a fun night with loved ones and all who supported her cause, allowing Chemo Noir to financially assist more than 20 local cancer patients before its third-year mark.

“I know what these cancer patients are going through, so it’s so great when people come out, not just for a good time, but to also contribute to our bigger missions,” she said.

“Whether it’s buying a ticket, bidding on an auction item, or simply contributing time and talent to events, it’s just an overwhelming gratitude every time. And everyone hates cancer, so it’s all good.”
