Lockheed Martin hosts interactive cockpit demonstrator display before Sea and Sky Air Show

This year’s Sea and Sky Air Show, held at Jacksonville Beach, hosted one of the area’s highest-octane events. Classic WWII aircraft, military flybys, aerobatic stunts and, of course, the fan favorite U.S. Navy Blue Angels all came together for one spectacular show that a little light rain couldn’t extinguish.

Prior to the airshow event, Lockheed Martin, an American global aerospace, defense, security and advanced technologies company, held a F-35 Lightning II interactive cockpit demonstrator display with local elected officials and community leaders. The demonstrator allowed civilians to get an idea of what it takes to fly an F-35 combat aircraft.

In attendance was Congressman John Rutherford, who spoke toward the importance of national and state security. Additionally, U.S. Airforce F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team pilot Andrew “Dojo” Olson walked the audience through what it is like to fly the stealth fighter, which he flew during this year’s airshow.

“This type of stuff energizes me, meeting and connecting with the American public and inspiring them to live their best life,” Olson said. “If it's in the military, great. Regardless, we hope they go out and do something amazing after they see our performance.”
