Ponte Vedra library to reopen Tuesday

The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library will resume its regular services and hours effective at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, after completing a roof replacement project ahead of schedule. Materials checked out from the branch before the closure on May 6 will not be due until June 10. For more information about the St. Johns County Public Library System, go to sjcpls.org. 

Fashion for Action set for June 13

The fourth annual Betty Griffin Center Thrift Shoppes Fashion for Action is set for June 13. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for this fashion show fundraiser and silent auction, which will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens St. Johns, 1285 St. Johns Parkway in St. Johns.

Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All fashions will be from the thrift shoppes. All proceeds will help survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in St. Johns County. For tickets, go to https://bit.ly/BGCFashionForAction2024.

Help with new filing offered to local businesses

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Florida is conducting workshops at St. Johns County public libraries aimed at aiding small business owners in meeting the newly imposed requirement for the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report. SBDC will offer informative presentations and assistance for filing the report, with access to computers and laptops provided if necessary. The filing process is straightforward, safeguarded and comes at no cost to business owners.

Palm Valley Market every Tuesday

The Palm Valley Market is held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday inside the Palm Valley Community Center, 148 Canal Road. The market offers fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, tea, seasonal treats, soap, jewelry, plants and more.

Easter Egg Hunt raised $3,400

Adventure Landing recently hosted its 28th annual Easter Egg Hunt, raising $3,400 for the Jacksonville Florida Volunteer Lifesaving Corp. The event suggested a $5 donation per child, and additional funds were garnered through a raffle featuring items donated by local businesses.

‘Dine for a Cause’ starts June 19

The “Beaches Area Dine for a Cause” is a summer fundraiser organized by The Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club. It will kick off 5-10 p.m. June 19 at Two Dudes Seafood. Restaurants will donate 20% of the evening's proceeds to the club, which awards more than $50,000 each year to local charities. Restaurants that would like to participate should contact Parker Alter at 804-814-8259.
