Writers to learn about real world of law enforcement

Northeast Florida Sisters in Crime invites local writers to bring their friends and coffee to their next meeting to hear another unique presentation about crime and those who fight against it.

Much of what the public believes about how law enforcement works and what's involved in criminal investigations comes from the news, television programs, social media, novels and movies. Just how close to the truth can it be? Sometimes writers get it right and other times, probably not. How do law enforcement professionals tackle real life situations?

The meeting will feature a speaker representing the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. It will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

The group welcomes “misters and sisters” to learn more about writing, promoting and enjoying crime fiction.
