The Operation New Uniform seventh annual Veterans Cup event promises a memorable afternoon of competitive shooting that will benefit the Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization.

The event will take place April 28 at Jacksonville Clay Target Sports, 12125 New Berlin Road.  Registration, lunch and silent auction preview start at noon, to be followed by a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start with teams participating on a state-of-the-art, 15-station sporting clay course. An awards ceremony, silent auction and cocktail reception will follow.

“We are incredibly excited about this year’s Veterans Cup as we are introducing some fun, new sponsorship levels and experiences, and have moved the event from the morning to mid-afternoon with an early evening awards ceremony and cocktail reception,” said Operation New Uniform CEO Michele McManamon. “Participants will be outfitted with survival kits and special commemorative event shirts, and cigar lovers can enjoy a good smoke and beverage at our designated Doc Holliday Sip and Smoke Saloon.”

“Meyer Najem Construction participated in the Veterans Cup last year, and clay shooting has become a newfound passion of mine,” said Jeff Blount, chief operating officer. “The camaraderie is fantastic and the opportunity to support an organization that provides such invaluable services to our veterans is incredibly rewarding. This is a great team-building event with work colleagues or just a great afternoon with good friends. I would encourage anybody, whether they are an accomplished shooter or a novice, to come on out and support the great work of Operation New Uniform.”

Proceeds from this event allow Operation New Uniform to offer life-changing career training programs and wrapround services at no cost to veterans and spouses.

Ninety-seven percent of Operation New Uniform graduates find meaningful employment within four months of completing the program with an average annual salary of $74,000. To date, Operation New Uniform has served more than 15,000 veterans and spouses and has graduated more than 400.

Comprehensive wrapround services include one-on-one coaching and mentoring, resume consultation, regular networking events, career fairs and more.
