Posted

The We Can Be Heroes Foundation is planning a special Pearl Harbor Remembrance and “Tribute to Heroes” luncheon honoring World War II veterans.

The event will be held Dec. 4 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, 300 A Philip Randolph Blvd., Jacksonville.

From 11:15 a.m. to noon, attendees will be able to mingle, visit displays, see memorabilia and participate in a silent auction benefitting the Atlantic Coast Young Marines.

The luncheon will be held from noon to 2 p.m., and presentations will follow.

The keynote speaker will be historian Capt. James Ransom III, USN, Ret. Attendees will hear unforgettable stories of Pearl Harbor and World War II heroes. There will also be an announcement of community unsung hero nominations.

Reserve seats or dining tables in memory or honor of World War II veterans and other U.S. veterans, first responders, loved ones or unsung heroes you know or admire. Display memorabilia of your hero in the center of your reserved table. A table placard honoring your hero will highlight your reserved table. Tables can be reserved for your family, group or organization.

Also, plan to visit the sizeable silent auction for your Christmas shopping to help raise money for the Atlantic Coast Young Marines’ World War II History Tour to Normandy, France and Germany.

Early bird tickets are $28 per person or $196 for a table of eight. (Note: The eighth seat is complimentary at the price of $196.) Veterans and Gold Star families receive a 10% discount. Tickets donated to veterans and Gold Star families receive a 15% discount. Donors will be recognized and thanked in the event program for honoring veterans and Gold Star families.
