The PGA TOUR released the current field of golfers expected to compete in THE PLAYERS Championship March 12-15 at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.
Among the players listed are defending champion Rory McIlroy and Ponte Vedra Beach resident and 2019 runner-up Jim Furyk.
Noticeably absent is two-time PLAYERS champion Tiger Woods, who announced Friday he would be missing the tournament as he continues to deal with a back injury. Woods also skipped the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month because of back pain.
Other notable players expected to compete are former PLAYERS champions Webb Simpson, Si Woo Kim, Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott.
