PLAYERS Senior Center announces February schedule

The following programs will be held in February at COA’s THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center, 175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach. All classes are four weeks long. If you have any questions or wish to register, call Suzanne Duvall at 904-209-3659.

Lunch Thursdays: Noon to 1 p.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 2. Registration required a week in advance and $5-per-meal fee required.

Lunch Tuesdays: Noon to 1 p.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 7. Registration required a week in advance and $5-per-meal fee required.  

Duplicate Bridge: Noon to 3 p.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 3. Fee required: $2 per person, per Friday.

Line Dancing Class: 4-5:30 p.m. Four weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 1. Instructor is Will Oglesby. Open to all adults and experience levels. Registration and fee required: $37.50 per month.

Tap Dance Class: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Friday, Feb. 3. Instructor is Ginny Wirzbicki. Registration and fee required: $25 per month. 

Acrylic Painting: 9:00 a.m. to noon. Four weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Hisshin Sumi-E Painting Class: Traditional East Asian brush painting. Only one week on Feb. 9 at 11:30 a.m. This class meets once a month, on the second Thursday of each month. Fee required: $3 per person.

Caregiver Support Group (Free Program): Only one week on Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Open to all adult caregivers and meets once a month, on the first Wednesday of each month. Register with Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.

Chair Exercise — Tuesdays: 9:30 to 10 a.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 7.

Chair Exercise — Wednesdays: 9-9:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 1.

Chair Exercise — Thursdays: 9:30 to 10 a.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 2.

Tai Chi: 10-11 a.m. Four weeks starting Thursday, Feb. 2.

Canasta: 10 a.m. to noon. Five weeks starting Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Mexican Train Dominoes: 10-11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Ask a Nurse: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Bingo Thursdays: 1-2 p.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 2.

Bingo Tuesdays: 1-2 p.m. Four weeks starting Feb. 7.

Jeopardy Style Trivia/Brain Games: Enjoy games and other activities for seniors from never2old4games. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Social Bridge: 9-9:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Board Game Playing: 9-9:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Wii Bowling: 10-11 a.m. Four weeks starting Thursday, Feb. 2.

Tech Help: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Five weeks starting Thursday, Feb. 2. Reservation required.

Dominoes Fun: 10 a.m. to noon. Four weeks starting Friday, Feb. 3.

Bocce Ball: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Friday, Feb. 3.

Jeopardy Style Trivia/Brain Games: Enjoy games and other activities for seniors from never2old4games. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Four weeks starting Friday, Feb. 3.

Popcorn and a Movie: Enjoy fresh hot popcorn and the classic movie “Groundhog Day” at 11 a.m. Feb. 2. Movie will play through lunch.

Fun with Concierge Care: Join us for seasonal crafting and treats. Hosted by Concierge Care. 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 7.

Cookbook Status: Find out where we are with our efforts. Senior Center members, volunteers, and staff have been submitting recipes, stories and photos for inclusion into the 2023 THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center Cookbook. This status meeting will be held 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 9.

Valentine’s Day Party: Enjoy festive treats and a “love songs sing-a-long” with Lisa Atkinson from Home Instead. 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 14.

Joe Crispell Birthday Bash: Enjoy birthday cake and the vocal stylings of Joe Crispell while celebrating February birthdays. 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 16.

Camellia at Deerwood: Explore why hugging is so important with Victoria Proctor of Camellia at Deerwood. 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 21.

Legal Presentation on Exploitation of the Elderly and Disabled: 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 23. Presented by Megan Wall, St. Johns County Legal Aid, managing attorney.

Nutrition Presentation: 11 a.m. Feb. 28. “Healthy Hydration,” from Carla Defuria, a registered dietitian and health coach at the Flagler Health+ Village at Nocatee.
