The Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library’s Book Club and Coloring Club, both for adults, are returning in the month of July. These are the first two monthly programs the library is bringing back with more to come as the year progresses. Meetings will be held in the FOL Community Room for both clubs through the end of 2021, so there will be plenty of space to social distance.
For the Adult Coloring Club, the library will provide the coloring pages, coloring implements, bottles of water and relaxing music, although attendees are welcome to bring their own coloring implements. Thanks to the CARES Act, the library now has one-person tables and chairs so that everyone has their own space to create but are still together in the room to socialize if desired.
For the Book Lovers Book Club (formerly the Wednesday Book Club), the July reading material will be “The Testaments” by Margaret Atwood. It’s the sequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which is encouraged but not required to read for the meeting. Both titles are available for checkout at the adult reference desk, and the library has print, large print and audiobook CD formats to choose from while copies last. For those who enjoy downloading their books to a tablet, phone, etc., both titles are also available in Overdrive via the website sjcpls.overdrive.com or the Libby App.
