Ponte Vedra boys lacrosse routs Nease in rivalry matchup


The Ponte Vedra boys lacrosse team routed rival Nease 15-4 on Tuesday, March 23, at Ponte Vedra High School. The Sharks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game.

PVHS sophomore Maddox Johnson led all scorers with five goals. Junior Sean Ciaracciolo added three goals for Ponte Vedra. The Sharks currently boast a 12-0 record after 9-8 win against Creekside on Saturday, March 27, in the inaugural “Rivalry on the River,” and a 19-2 rout of Menendez on Tuesday, March 30. PVHS is currently ranked the No. 1 team in the state and the No 8 team nationally. The Sharks next play at Episcopal at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 1. Nease was 7-5 before heading into a matchup with visiting Matanzas on Wednesday, March 31. That game was not over by press time.  The Panthers will then play at Providence at 6 p.m. Friday, April 2.
