Ponte Vedra holistic medical practice celebrates first anniversary

After a year of servicing Ponte Vedra Beach families, holistic medical center Optimal You Brain Centers celebrated its one-year anniversary on Jan. 24 with a party and mini vendor expo for the community.

“We had a lot of support from local businesses during our first year,” said Optimal You cofounder Dr. Lexie Romero. “We wanted to give back to them, our patients and to the community.”

Savor Sensations catered the event while vendors like CBD company Aspen Green; H2O Home and various local Realtors came out in support of the practice.

“H2O Home is by a local woman who sells natural homecare cleaning products,” said Romero, who aims to help promote all-things local.

The event also featured awareness and donations for the local Tesori Foundation, mini massages from Root to Crown and a yoga practice from Titanium Yoga.

“Titanium Yoga even donated a one-month yoga membership,” Romero said. “It was just really fun.”

Romero also surprised guests and patients with raffles, giveaways and family discounts for those already visiting the Optimal You Brain Centers.

“We’re rolling out new memberships promoting the whole family to be involved with care,” she said. “We waive exam fees for family members and do additional discounts for every single family member involved with care. We rolled it all out the day of the event, so they were very happy to see all those changes in the practice.”

After Romero’s husband, Dr. Thomas Romero, had personal experience with family members dealing with opioids, the couple was inspired to practice more natural, holistic remedies to help patients attain a healthier, pain-free life.

“We work with adults with traumatic brain injuries, neurodegenerative conditions and autoimmune conditions, children with learning disabilities or autism or children with GI—anyone who wants a more natural approach to their healthcare,” said Romero, adding that her husband practices clinical neurology while both practice chiropractic medicine.

“We know the toll that traditional medications, especially with kids with ADD and ADHD, can have,” she explained. “So, we got inspired to learn a different approach, especially with pediatrics, and offer something different. That’s what we developed, and we just love what we do.”
