The newly formed Ponte Vedra Athletic Association (PVAA) Sharks youth wrestling team saw their first action this past Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Oakleaf Youth Wrestling Tournament
Head Coach Steven Griffel's PVAA Sharks (5 years old to eighth grade) began wrestling only a few months ago. This was their first opportunity to demonstrate the holds and moves they have been learning during their Tuesday and Thursday evening practices.
Five of the young Sharks placed, led by Nate Wade taking first, Mason Hauseman taking second, Wyatt Dize taking second, Ethan Holmes taking second and Talan Babin taking fourth.
Other first-year wrestlers competing were: Charlie MacGilvray, Vince Myers, Brian Tallis, Branson Babin, Hudson Hauseman, Matt Kowitski and Brydan Holmes.
