PVHS volleyball teams raise funds to fight breast cancer

Ponte Vedra High School’s junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams honored those who have fought breast cancer, who are still fighting breast cancer and who have died from breast cancer on Tuesday at their home game. The athletes each made a poster to honor someone they know that has been touched by breast cancer, and pledged to play for that person. The teams also hosted a recognition ceremony between the junior varsity and varsity games. The athletes conducted a bake sale leading up to the games and all funds collected from the sale, concessions and from donations at the ticket table on the night of the game were donated to the Side Out Foundation, which supports the development of treatments for stage four breast cancer. Donations can still be made to help the teams reach their goals by visiting https://www.side-out.org/cb/campaigns/campaign/10800.
