PVPV/Rawlings Elementary School students Sevi Neumayer, 6, and Kemin Zhang, 7, recently ran a lemonade stand on two different occasions at the Publix in Sawgrass Village to help raise awareness and money for S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue in St. Augustine.

Sevi and Kemin also made their own T-shirts to be used as uniforms for the event and designed their own posters. In addition, they recruited their friends to participate. Others involved included Morlee Carey, Anna Shapiro, Delina Oliver, Lily Oliver, Yiwen Chen, Jessie Tang, Benjamin Bi-Ji, Isabella Lee, Sophia Lee, Sophia Durso, Lily Coltman, Jenna Jetha, Sienna, Jetha, Ava Tari, Zak Kornick and Teigan Kornick. During the fundraising event, volunteers worked two-hour shifts with two to four kids working each shift.

The lemonade stand ultimately raised $2861.44. In addition to the help of their friends, the fundraising effort included the support of Publix store manager Brian Sanders and the Ponte Vedra Beach UPS store, which donated the flyers for the event.
