Quotable: Nease vs. Fletcher Football

Posted

The Nease Panthers (0-4) lost another close contest, this time to Fletcher 21-13 on Sept. 16. Samuel Milton ran for a touchdown and Marcus Stokes hit Maddox Spencer for the Panthers' points in the game. Both teams played through pouring rain during much of the third quater. Below are a list of quotes from Nease players and coaches:

Head coach Collin Drafts

"I can't put my finger on it right now, but it's on me as a coach in finding a way to get these guys to come out fast in the first half," Drafts said. "For two weeks in a row now, we've come out and looked great in the second half."

"We just couldn't get anything going in the firs half offensively and put ourselves in a hole, down 21-0," Drafts said. "It's back to the drawing board, and that's all there is to it."

"I challenged them at halftime and they can out and fought," Drafts said. "I'm proud of them for that."

Sophomore wide reciver Maddox Spencer

"When coach (Drafts) trusts in me, I've got to prove to him that I can take it," Spencer said. "I don't want to let my teammates down, and I'm willing to do whatever I have to do."

"After every game, our (quarterback/wide reciever) connection is just getting better and better," Spencer said.

Senior running back Samuel Milton

"I have really good chemistry and a great relationship with our o-line," Milton said. "We can have an amazing offense, but it just all comes down to having the confidence that you can hang with the big dogs."
