Tell us what kind of work you do at Northrop Grumman.

I am the vice president and site leader for the St. Augustine Aircraft Center of Excellence at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector, a premier provider of manned and unmanned aircraft and advanced technologies critical to our nation’s security. I am responsible for managing and integrating manufacturing and production operations at the St. Augustine site in coordination with the company’s various aircraft programs. The Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence produces, modifies, repairs and overhauls military aircraft and subassemblies.

How long have you been with the company?

I have worked for Northrop Grumman for more than 25 years and I have over 34 years of military and aerospace experience.

I served in the United States Marine Corps and worked on several programs and technologies at Northrop Grumman sites across the United States.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

The most satisfying part of my job is leading and interfacing with our team as we build essential products that support our military customers. I am proud of our skilled and talented workforce. Northrop Grumman employees have a strong work ethic and commitment to mission excellence.

It is an honor and privilege to lead our team and I find it exceptional satisfying.

As a successful professional, what advice would you give young people as they plan their careers?

I recommend that young people early in their career “find their passion.” To be successful in your career, you must really enjoy what you are doing. I would also recommend that you learn and master the basics; in every career having a strong base is a fundamental requirement for success.

How long have you lived in St. Johns County? Where are you from originally?

I have lived in St. Johns County for seven years. I relocated from Southern California in 2013 for career opportunity within Northrop Grumman. I am originally from Southern Maryland and have lived in several states across the U.S. My father was career Navy and I served in the Marine Corps.

What do you like best about living here on the First Coast?

I really like the First Coast; it’s exciting to live in a booming area. This is a beautiful location with access to the beach, affordable housing, top rated schools and more – there is something for everyone here. The First Coast allows me to get anywhere on the East Coast quickly, as well. And the seafood restaurants in this area are fantastic.

How do you like to spend your free time? Do you have hobbies or do you do any volunteering?

I spend my free time playing golf, and I am a novice photographer.

I believe it’s important to mentor the next generation and share knowledge and inspiration. Corporate responsibility is something I feel strongly about, and I believe it’s important to mentor young people. I also welcome opportunities to share knowledge and inspiration. Recently, I joined the board of directors for the St. Augustine Boys and Girls Club. I look forward to actively supporting the organization over the next year. Additionally, I serve on the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors.
