She has a recognized history as a former president of the Rotary Club of Key West and is the current treasurer of the Rotary Club of St. Augustine Sunset. She is active with community organizations that support her dedication for service and collaboration.
Long is also involved in raising funds at Flagler College as a board member of the Women of Vision. She is a key fundraiser for many nonprofit and for-profit businesses in Northeast Florida. Long is also a champion ballroom dancer.
Previously, she served as a technology solutions expert from 1979 until 2006 while achieving top sales and additional recognition for marketing, leasing, training, operations and logistics in telecommunications and technology. She also worked in banking and loans for many years. She holds an associate degree in business with honor roll status from DeKalb College, which is now Perimeter College at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
