Rock Solid Law offers complimentary living wills to educators, school staff to start new school year

As educators and school staff across the country continue to express concerns about returning to the classroom amid the COVID-19 pandemic, attorney John Miller, founder of Rock Solid Law, is offering help by waiving his firm’s fee to prepare living wills for them, along with offering an additional 10% discount on a last will and testament.

Miller is providing the legal document to any educator or school staff member in Florida who feel they need a backup plan in place just in case they come in contact with COVID-19.

“I personally have two school-age children, as do other members of our Rock Solid team,” Miller said. “We so respect the educators and their support staff who are dedicated to our future generations and are submitting themselves to a significant risk in doing so. We hope that by offering these opportunities, that we can relieve them of some of the stress of their current situation and show our extreme gratitude to them.”

Teachers and school staff across Northeast Florida are returning to the classroom with some uncertainty still lingering. Many teachers say they are concerned — even going as far as reaching out to their doctors to see what this virus could do to them. A lot of teachers are saying that they were so nervous about going back to school and they didn’t know what to do.

Rock Solid Law’s concern is that everyone should have access to the legal system and not every educator knows a lawyer they can just call up and ask about a living will.

An advance directive for health care, better known as a living will or directive to physician, is a legal document that describes the type of medical care an individual does or does not want in the case they are unable to communicate their wishes. For instance, an individual would decide if they want to stay on life-support or not.

“We feel like this is so important for everyone who is educating our children to have,” Miller said.

Rock Solid Law also posted on its Facebook page it will waive the fee for the preparation of a living will for all educators and school staff.

To get a complimentary living will, email your name, school and mailing address to info@rocksolidlaw.com. The living will requires two witnesses, one of whom is neither a spouse nor a blood relative.
