PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL – Sara Day Radovic, 48, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 6, following a gallant, year-long fight with ovarian cancer which she faced with grace, dignity, and courage. Born on September 9, 1975, in Bridgeport, CT, she was a woman who embraced life with joy and will be remembered as a truly kind and gentle soul.
She is survived by her parents Andrew and Martha Radovic of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, a brother, Andrew Radovic III of Singapore and his wife Hanae and their children, Luke and Owen. Sara’s extended family includes a loving circle of eleven aunts and uncles, and ten cousins.
She graduated from Nease High School (1993), the University of North Florida (1997) with a bachelor’s degree in communications and Florida State University (2000) where she earned a master’s degree in library science.
Sara enjoyed a long and standout career that spanned twenty years with the Jacksonville Public Library System. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to the profession she truly cared for and loved. She leaves behind a proud legacy of service as a librarian and will be remembered fondly by the many colleagues and patrons she touched along the way. Her warm, welcoming smile, which was matched only by her brilliant spirit will be missed.
Her passions included spending time with friends and her cat, reading, cooking, knitting, and traveling. She could often be found at the Brooks YMCA pursuing fitness and wellness goals.
An ardent supporter of causes that benefit those less fortunate, she derived great satisfaction volunteering for Feeding Northeast Florida, a charitable organization located in Jacksonville that was very important to her. In lieu of flowers, Sara would urge all to donate either time or financial support to further advance their efforts in the community.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home & Cemetery, with a reception immediately following. Please sign the online guestbook at www.pontevedravalley.com
