Ponte Vedra High School recently hired a pair of new head coaches to its athletic program with the additions of Jessica Spencer-Gardner and Angi Boselli.

Spencer-Gardner will take over the reins of the girls varsity basketball team heading into next season.

She presents an array of experience, having played Division 1 basketball at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Spencer-Gardner is familiar with the area, as she is currently the head coach of an AAU squad at Blue Heat Basketball Academy in Ponte Vedra.

She will have a lot of talent to work with, as the Sharks are expected to return the majority of a young group that molded as the year went along and finished as district champions.

“We couldn’t ask for a more caring and compassionate leader to guide our girls basketball program,” Ponte Vedra athletic director Michael Harrison said.

Joining Spencer-Gardner as a new coach next year will be Boselli, who has been named the Sharks’ next cheer head coach.

Boselli has quite the resume, with more than 15 years of coaching cheer at the highest levels of competition, including winning a state title while at Providence School in Jacksonville.

That is not the last of the moves the Sharks will make from now until the start of the next school year in the fall.

One of the current vacancies they will need to fill will also be the head coach of the varsity girls lacrosse team, after former head coach Jennifer Conway and the school parted ways.
