Sharks softball mercies Ridgeview

The Lady Sharks softball team keeps rolling along behind solid pitching and clutch hitting. The Ridgeview Panthers were their most recent victim on Thursday evening losing 15-1 in five innings.

The Sharks scored early and often posting four runs in the first, seven in the third and five in the fourth. The Panthers scored an unearned run in the fourth.

Hits by Michelle Leone, Farley Callaghan, Maddie Sypniewski, Taylor Bradshaw and Loren Struble produced four runs in the first for the Sharks. They added six in the third with the big blows coming on singles by Sypniewski, Bradshaw and Kiley Hennessy, a sacfly by Struble followed by a round trippers by Abby Zitello (a three-run blast) and Quinlan Richmond (a two-run blast).

Sypniewski’s third hit combined with three walks, a hit batter and three wild pitches produced five runs in the fourth for Ponte Vedra.

Michelle Holder pitched three innings and earned her fourth win and Nicole Johnson pitched two innings.
