Alternative country and folk singer-songwriter Hayes Carll returns to Ponte Vedra Beach Thursday, April 2 with a performance at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
“… It’s songwriting that doesn’t pander to mainstream country, alt-country, so-called Americana, indie-folk, or what-have you. It just tells its story,” Rolling Stone wrote about Carll.
Last year turned out to be a milestone year for Carll, who released his new album, “What It Is,” last February. “What It Is” debuted in the Top 5 on Billboard’s Rock (No. 5), Country (No. 5) and Americana (No. 4) charts. The album reached No. 6 on the Independent chart while landing in the Top 25 in the Top 200 (No. 23) and Current Albums (No. 21) charts. The album also held the No. 1 spot at Americana Radio for two weeks, while the first single, “None Ya,” held the No. 1 position for eight consecutive weeks.
