The St. Johns County (SJC) Chamber of Commerce will host the 17th annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show presented by Fields Auto Group on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Nocatee Event Field.

The Auto Show, which is open and free to spectators, will feature up to 180 classic and new collectors’ cars all vying for the show’s 30 trophies, according to a press release from the Chamber. This year’s show features a newly designed website, which is ready for entry registrations. Automobile pre-registration is $35 per vehicle through Sept. 11. Day of registration is $50 per vehicle. Registration information can be found at www.pvautoshow.com.

Four special anniversaries and one Memorial trophy will be showcased this year. Special anniversaries include the 30th Anniversary of the Lexus, 60th Anniversary of the Mini, 50th Anniversary of the Porsche Mid-Engine Honoring the Anniversary of the 914 and the 30th Anniversary of the Land Rover Discovery.

The Ponte Vedra Auto Show will honor its past chairman, Larry Weisman, who died earlier this year. Weisman devoted significant time and energy into the show during his tenure, and the Best of Show Award, selected from 180-plus entrants, will be given in his honor.

“Larry was a driving force behind the Ponte Vedra Auto Show and worked tirelessly to make it the success it is today,” said Toni Boudreaux-Godwin, PVB division director. “His energy and dedication will be missed and hard to replace.”

Ken Perry, longtime Porsche owner and head judge for the Festivals of Speed, has agreed to take over the chairmanship duties going forward. The entire trophy list has been revamped to “level the playing field and car culture trends,” Perry said.

Perry brings a wealth of car show organization and judging to the Ponte Vedra Auto Show. Currently, he also serves as head judge for the Festivals of Speed events held in Florida and Georgia. He also voice volunteered for the Amelia Concours d'Elegance for over 15 years holding chair positions in silent auction, retail sales and logistics. Perry has judged for the Ponte Vedra Auto Show for five years.

“We are thrilled to have Fields Auto Group return for its fourth year as presenting sponsor, they have been a very supportive sponsor in every way,” said Isabelle Renault, president of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. “This year, attendees will enjoy the show’s new updates and expanded show field. Our partnership with Nocatee has allowed for growth and improvements to the Show which we greatly appreciate.”

Garry Redig, vice president of operations of Fields Auto Group, said his company is proud to partner with the 2019 Ponte Vedra Auto Show.

“This will be an exciting event showcasing some of the best in the history of the automotive industry,” Redig said. “We are looking forward to a great Show at a spectacular new location in Nocatee.”
