On June 13, Spavia Day Spa hosted its official ribbon cutting celebration for the Nocatee Community. The day spa had a soft opening in the spring.
Spavia is a luxury day spa that offers facials, skincare, massages, body wraps and waxing. The staff welcomed guests with complimentary skincare samples, make-up, mini-treatments and demonstrations.
Spavia owner, Chris Stoll, didn’t expect a huge turnout, but was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
“We had about 100 people that came in support,” he said. “We really weren’t sure what to expect. Some of the folks I spoke to said that usually there’s not that many people that come to these things, maybe 10 might show up. And then we had 100. So, I was just blown away.”
The ribbon-cutting also featured give-away prizes for the guests. Five special treatments were given, along with a full treatment package that included a facial, massage and body wrap.
But setting aside luxury treatments and therapeutic massages, Stoll’s favorite part of his day is the look on his guests’ faces when they walk out of their treatment, relaxed and at peace, as they almost seem to float out the door.
“I love when people leave and are just so much happier than when they got there,” he said. “Not that they weren’t happy when they got here. They’re just usually in anticipation, but then, they walk out the door and they’re almost in a daze, so relaxed and happy. I love that.”
Stoll also loves and is grateful for his new Nocatee neighbors, mentioning that he’s already engaged in several of community and charity events and is ready for more to come.
“This whole area, they’re so supportive of new businesses coming in,” he said with excitement. “It’s really fun just being plugged into the community. Meeting neighbors and business owners, it’s just been amazing.”
