There are a lot of fun things going on at THE PLAYERS Community Senior Center, 175 Landrum Lane, Ponte Vedra Beach. Here’s a look:

  • Herbology With James Carucci — This course is designed to show participants how herbs can be used to promote health and well-being by looking at specific health concerns and herbal solutions.

Each week, the class will look at an area of health and explore the variety of herbs, which can be used to treat or prevent the condition. Participants will learn techniques to create their own remedies and will have a chance to either make or taste samples.

The cost is $30 for a four-week session held at 3-4 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 2, 13, 20 and 27. For more information or to register, contact Suzanne Duvall at 904-209-3659 or sduvall@stjohnscoa.com.

  • Line Dancing — This class is open to all levels and all adults in the area. Instructor Will Oglesby has many years of experience and is passionate about what he does. He is dedicated to his work and making it fun for everyone.

The cost is $30 for four sessions at 5-5:30 p.m. Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28. Registration and payment required in advance. Contact Suzanne Duvall at 904-209-3659 or sduvall@stjohnscoa.com.

  • Tap Dance Class — This class is open to all adults and experience levels. Instructor Ginny Wirzbicki has been dancing since she was 5 years old and has learned many different types of dance. Tap has always been her favorite, and she became an assistant instructor at the age of 15. She has continued dancing and teaching throughout the years and has been involved with COA’s tap dance classes since 2017.

The cost is $30 for a five-week session at 10:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays, Sept. 2, 16, 23 and 30 and Wednesday, Sept. 7. There is no class on Sept. 9. Registration and payment required in advance. Contact Suzanne Duvall at 904-209-3659 or sduvall@stjohnscoa.com.
