St. Augustine Community Chorus to present ‘Come Travel with Me’ March 7-8

The St. Augustine Community Chorus will present three distinct ‘journeys’ at its March spring pops concert.

“Come Travel with Me” will feature three musical journeys. The first will feature songs from other countries including Italy, Japan, Spain, Wales and Canada. The second journey will travel musically across the U.S. through pieces such as “Shenandoah,” “California Dreamin’,” “Buffalo Gals” and “Kansas Boys.” The final journey will revisit the music of the 1940s and 1950s.

“Our spring pops concert is always a lot of fun to perform, with many familiar pieces that the audience knows and loves and hopefully a few new songs that will spark their imagination of these other places that they can travel to in their mind’s eye for a few hours,” said Marie Cashat, president-elect of the chorus and one of its tenors.

Music Director Michael Sanflippo added, “We are so proud of the vocal talent we have in the St. Augustine Community Chorus and their ability to perform everything from folk to pop with equal ability and in multiple languages.”

Performances will be held Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at Ancient City Baptist Church, 27 Sevilla St., St. Augustine. Tickets are available at the door or online at https://staugcc.ticketleap.com/pops2020/dates. Tickets are $25 for adults; $12 for youths ages 11-17; free for children 10 and under and $5 for active duty military with ID.
