The St. Augustine Shrine Club hosted the Chowder Challenge for Children on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
With proceeds benefiting the Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa, the event featured a contest including the following categories: Minorcan Clam Chowder, Minorcan Conch Chowder, New England Clam Chowder, Seafood Chowder and People’s Choice. More than 20 restaurants participated in the event, with judges selecting winners in each category.
The winners were as follows:
Minorcan Clam:
• First – Purple Olive
• Second – Sunset Grille
• Third – Kyle’s Seafood
Minorcan Conch:
• First – Kyle’s Seafood
• Second – Creekside Dinery
• Third – Sunset Grille
New England Clam:
• First – Kyle’s Seafood
• Second – Sunset Grille
• Third – Saltwater Cowboys
Seafood:
• First – Pizzalley’s Chianti Room
• Second – The Reef
• Third – Purple Olive
People’s Choice:
• Kyle’s Seafood
