St. Johns County announced Tuesday Aug. 10 that it will be opening a COVID-19 testing site beginning Monday Aug. 16.

The site will be housed at St. Johns County Agricultural Center located at 3125 Agricultural Center Drive.

The plan is for the site to be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and appointments will not be necessary to get tested.

However, residents can still pre-register and schedule a time by visiting www.mdc.nomihealth.com/easy_registration/26/signup?location=SJAC.

The creation of the testing site was made possible through a partnership with the county and Nomi Health.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, St. Johns County has received a moderate number of 251 to 1,000 reported cases during the last seven days (Aug. 3 to Aug. 9).

Despite the number of reported cases increasing over the past month, the number of reported county deaths due to COVID-19 has been none during that time and that has remained the same since March according to CDC data charts.

The CDC stated that as of Tuesday Aug. 10, 53.9% of St. Johns County’s population has been fully vaccinated and another 8% has received at least one dose of vaccine.
