Because of mandatory evacuation notices and the unpredictable path of Hurricane Dorian, the construction barge at Mickler’s Wharf was moved from the site at the end of Canal Boulevard on Sept. 2 and taken out of the water.
“We strapped everything down on the pier just to be on the safe side,” David Plummer of Outback Marine Construction said.
Construction resumes this week, but the opening is delayed until later in October.
