Nease High School kicked off the first Beaches Go Green Mickler Road Clean-up of this year. Beaches Go Green student clubs have adopted the one-mile stretch of Mickler Road from the Mickler Beach access to the Publix roundabout. There was a large turnout and several local schools were represented including: Nease, Fletcher, Tocoi Creek and Providence high schools; Fletcher Middle School and Jacksonville Beach Elementary School. A total of 87 volunteers collected eight bags of trash and several large items with a $6,036.25 total volunteer value and trash abatement contribution to the community.
