Subaru of Jacksonville makes donation to Wolfson Children’s Hospital

On Wednesday, April 21, Subaru of Jacksonville owner Phil Porter presented a check for what the dealership said is its largest donation to date to Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

The check, from the 13th annual Share the Love Campaign, was received by Michael Aubin, president of Wolfson Children’s Hospital and interim chief philanthropy officer for the Baptist Health Foundation, and Brett McClung, president and CEO of Baptist Health.

Wolfson is the region’s only full-service children’s hospital.

The gift will help fund care and advanced technology to heal critically ill and injured children through the newly named Porter Family Children’s Trauma Center, along with child passenger safety education.
The hospital relies on charitable donations to provide care for all children in the region, regardless of ability to pay. In 2016, Subaru of Jacksonville chose Wolfson Children’s Hospital to be its hometown charity for Subaru’s Share the Love campaign.

During this year’s campaign, Subaru donated $250 for every new vehicle purchased or leased between Nov. 19 and Jan. 4. Customers could choose from four national charities for the $250 donation – including ASPCA, Make a Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels and the National Park Foundation – or Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Subaru of Jacksonville matched every $250 donation, regardless of the charity chosen by the customer, with all matching funds benefitting Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Additionally, Subaru of America and Subaru of Jacksonville donated $2 and $3, respectively, to Wolfson Children’s for every Subaru oil change at the dealership during the campaign.
