Flo Chiarotti and her friend Sandy Shallow came to The Florida Travel Expo, the largest consumer travel expo in Northeast Florida, on Sunday, Nov. 3, looking for affordable and exciting trip ideas for a group school trip.

“We are getting lots of great ideas,” Shallow said. “Everyone so far has been very helpful.”

Travelers from around the area came to check out first-class destinations and exotic locations at the free, premier travel expo at World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort. About 35 exhibitors specializing in land, sea and air travel were there, and the event also featured educational seminars, packing tips, travel specials, pop-up boutiques, raffle prizes and travel and three resort-wear fashion shows.

More than 600 people pre-registered to attend the first-of-its-kind-in-the-area event, founder and organizer Dorothy Flannery of Ponte Vedra Beach said. She said she was pleased with the turnout.
