The Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, the Mouse King and the mice, Bon Bons and all the Nutcracker characters will return to the St. Augustine stage this holiday season.
Saint Augustine Ballet presents the 14th Annual Nutcracker to the community — a timeless classic featuring professional ballet dancers and dance students from St. Augustine and surrounding areas. This holiday favorite will be staged Dec. 17-18 in Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College, 14 Granada St., downtown St. Augustine.
Show times are 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18. Tickets are $35, $45 to $50, available at saintaugustineballet.com. Reservations may also be made there.
“I am thrilled that Saint Augustine Ballet will bring the Nutcracker once again to the community during St. Augustine’s popular Nights of Lights event,” said Luis Abella, executive director and founder of Saint Augustine Ballet. “Artistic expression is so incredibly important, and we are excited to share these performances with our audiences from near and far.”
A cast of more than 55 local dance students, professional guest artists and community “celebrities” have been cast this year. Ballet students Nature Kuc and Chloe Straw will share the role of Clara.
