Happy summer! What a beautiful place we live in, especially on the 4th of July watching fireworks go off up and down the beach. It was truly spectacular.
The summer is a great time to share ice cream, and The Women’s Board enjoyed sharing ice cream sundaes with children and families that are currently patients of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Vanilla, chocolate or birthday cake ice cream covered in their favorite toppings created a fun diversion and activity. July is also the Christmas in July toy drive, which provides toys that can be used to celebrate birthdays or a moment in a child’s life while they are confined to the hospital.
While many of you are enjoying our beautiful beaches and amazing river, The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital is hard at work on our signature events, the Florida Forum and the First Coast Design Show.
The Florida Forum is a premier speakers forum featuring heads of state, authors and internationally known leaders. Our 2024-25 lineup will be announced soon at www.thefloridaforum.com, so stay tuned for tickets and sponsorships information. We have amazing opportunities for photographs with the speakers and a VIP reception after each forum.
The First Coast Design Show is a four-day weekend event that includes a black-tie gala, lectures featuring nationally recognized designers, 40 vendors from across the country showcasing unique art and antiques and a remarkable Children’s Fashion Show with former and current patients. Save the date for Dec. 5-8 to enjoy designer vignettes, tablescapes, immersive flower events and a family fun day on Sunday, Dec. 8.
These events support Wolfson Children’s Hospital, our region’s only children’s hospital. The monies raised will support the essential Kids Kare Mobile ICU program, which transports the most critical patients while providing full ICU care enroute.
Last year The Women’s Board contributed more than $927,000 to Wolfson Children’s Hospital and its various programs, having raised more than $36 million in the last 50 years.
The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital is a volunteer organization that raises awareness and funding through the efforts of more than 400 long-term volunteers. Interested in volunteering?
