Venus Manly Scholarship available to graduating seniors with disabilities

Posted

Venus Manly had a thirst for learning and loved school. Her enthusiasm for education surpassed the limits that cerebral palsy placed on her physical form and was happiest surrounded by an atmosphere of learning. Manly served as an inspiration to many as her big smile often lit up the classroom.

In 2014, The Center for Spiritual Living St. Augustine established a scholarship to honor Venus’s memory and help others pursue their dream for advanced education. This scholarship is offered to St. Johns County graduating seniors with disabilities wanting to attend college, university, trade or technical school.

Three $1,000 scholarships are available. Graduating seniors with disabilities should apply by March 31. This process includes an essay and live interview component. The application is available on www.cslstaugustine.org under the Youth Programs or by visiting 1795 Old Moultrie Rd.
