Vicar’s Landing held a Kentucky Derby party on Saturday, May 1.
Because of social distancing, the party was broken up into three separate areas at Vicar’s Landing. Residents were able to have dinner and watch the Derby in the Dining Room, Auditorium, and Blue Heron Café.
Big screens were available in all areas, and the evening included betting and a Derby Hat Contest.
Special Derby hors d’oeuvres and mint juleps were served, along with a traditional Derby dinner.
24 lucky Vicar’s Landing residents were winners of the Derby betting, and three residents were winners of the Derby Hat Contest. The two biggest Derby winners were Ms. Randa Lewis and Dr. John Woodard.
