Vicar’s Landing is keeping members safe — and entertained

Posted

Vicar’s Landing management and staff have continued to be busy keeping its members active and safe.

It all starts with dining services, which has been creating special events, such as opening up the ice cream truck and celebrating National Milk Chocolate Day with a chocolate giveaway. Who doesn’t love chocolate! The in-house television channel has been broadcasting events daily, including travelogues produced by one of Vicar’s Landing’s members, exercise classes, movies and plays which are directed by members and starring members. Next up is a talent show, which is showcasing not only members, but staff as well.

We have also been able to start back up some live classes and groups. The Legacy Writing Group is back to writing its memoirs, the Book Club is enjoying reconnecting and, for the more active members, exercise and line-dancing classes are taking place. To show support of the newest fashion (a.k.a. the mask), Vicar’s Landing is currently accepting submissions from its members to see who has the most creative mask. The winning member will be treated to a special surprise with the neighbors in the atrium of their building.

And we would be surprised if you have not seen our staff at Publix, shopping for our members on Thursdays and Fridays or our wellness nurse at CVS on Wednesdays or Fridays. More than 500 items on each of those two days are purchased and then distributed to members according to their list. “Safety first” is our motto and nothing proves that more than the shopping effort.

We continue to appreciate all the members are doing to keep our community safe and healthy!
